Job Summary:

Lead Behavioral Technicians provide developmental and maturational guidance to children in care, individually and in groups. This role assumes appropriate supervision, care, nurture, and treatment for children in residence. The Lead Behavioral Technician reports to the house Behaviorist, as assigned.

The Lead Behaviorist is included in the staffing pattern of the assigned house, oversees the day to day efficiency of programmatic implementation and provides administrative supervision to Behavioral Technicians.

The Lead Behavioral Technician works in collaboration with the Behavioral Assistant to ensure procedural compliance, model exceptional service delivery to residents and families, and fosters collaborative relations among internal and external providers. This is a full time, non-exempt position.

Schedule:

Monday and Tuesday- 2:45pm-10:45pm , Wednesday- (Office day) 9:00am-5:00pm (flexible)

Saturday- double shift 10:00am-10:00pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates exceptional ability to perform all Behavioral Technician duties and responsibilities including but not limited to demonstrating excellent written and oral communication skills, consistent implementation of Positive Behavior Support plans (PBS) and administration of behavioral reinforcements, therapeutic engagement skills with residents and families, and abilities to effectively implement treatment interventions.
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership skills, monitors day to day tasks and oversight of staffing assignments including but not limited to house maintenance and upkeep, staff timeliness and professionalism, management of house activities, funding for activities and household supplies, and provides oversight of PNMI compliancy.
  • LBT has first hand knowledge of residents’ individualized treatment plans (ICMPS, PBS, Treatment Plans, etc.) and is adept at ensuring implementation of plans.
  • Works with Behavioral Technicians to provide coaching of ABA principles and exemplary modeling on the job and when in contact with the residents and families being served and ensures treatment plans, and Policies and Procedures are adhered to and implemented in the designated residential home.
  • Initiates new programs for the assigned house and promotes ongoing professional development of staff.
  • Provides therapeutic insight into the residents and conveys this to other Behavioral Technicians and the Clinical Leadership Team. Lead BT’s must be adept at making treatment decisions with the treatment team, which will have successful results for residents.
  • Works in collaboration with the Behavioral Assistant to complete performance evaluations.
  • Must be able to drive residents to scheduled meetings, medical appointments, etc. Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance coverage through the agency’s insurance carrier.
  • Promotes communication with Learning Center and Clinical staff to ensure consistency of treatment.
  • Provides oversight with the completion of protocols and documentation in accordance with DCF, DDS, COA and agency standards.
  • Maintains PMT, First Aid and CPR certifications.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience working in the human service field and preference may be given to those with prior experience within the ASD field.

A Bachelor Degree in Human Services are preferable; other eligible candidates must have a minimum of an Associate degree in the field of Human Services.

Candidates will be expected to complete all agency training requirements including a minimum of 15 hour online ATS training, in class PMT, ASD training, and other agency specified trainings.
