Isla Veterinary Boutique Hospital is a brand new concept in veterinary medicine that focuses on not only offering excellent quality of medicine to our patients, but also focuses on providing a white glove treatment to our clientele. We are a brand new facility in a brand new strip mall located just minutes away from Vitruvian Park in Addison. We offer the following: preventive medicine, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, devoted dental suite, digital radiology, in-house laboratory, and will look to expand into laser therapy, acupuncture, and in-house ultrasound.

The white glove treatment is not just for the clientele, but also for the staff. Dr. Josh, owner of Isla, was a vet tech before he became a doctor and he completely understands what makes his staff happy and feeling cared for. His goal is to bring together a team that not only loves what they do, but is also heard and cherished. He wants his team to be together as a family for many years to come.

As a brand new practice, we will be focusing on building a safe and amazing environment for everyone, but as we establish a clientele, Dr. Josh will be expanding the benefit package for his staff. Job Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent to 12th grade education
• Veterinary Technician education (ideally from AVMA accredited school) and/or at least 3 years of experience in the private practice field
• Strong communication skills and passion for working with people
• Strong interest in learning and pursuing further education
• Respectful and mindful of different paths in life (we foster a culture of equality and acceptance)
• Highly organized and clean
• Makes sound decisions, has leadership skills, and prioritizes well under pressure
• Ability to be flexible, as we are a brand new practice
• Willing to submit to background check and drug screens at any time
• Ability to perform/assist with routine veterinary procedures (surgical and medical)
• Responsible and effective animal handling skills that focus on patient’s well being and staff’s safety, as well as skilled in reading animal’s behaviors
• Knowledge of commonly used veterinary terminology
• Reliable transportation and punctuality
• Anesthesia trained and very comfortable with dental cleanings and routine surgical procedures
• Comfortable with potentially extended periods of sitting, bending, standing, and using hands/arms
• Knowledgeable of electronic medical records and comfortable with technology.
• May be required to lift 40 lbs. or more with assistance
