Summary of the Systems Engineer - Sensing Technologies
Our client, a global leader in vehicle safety and active driving technologies, is looking an expert in sensing technologies to develop vehicle safety concepts into real products. As the team's sensing tech expert, you will investigate/profile new and existing sensor technologies to identify their potential uses for Interior Sensing features. You will work alongside system architects to aid in modeling the sensors as well as feature owners to help in the development of new features that leverage those sensing technologies.

Responsibilities of Systems Engineer - Sensing Technologies
- Investigate, benchmark and profile sensing technologies
- Contribute to the physical architecture by modeling the sensors in SysML
- Conduct research (literature reviews) and develop feature concepts given market and regulatory needs
- Create clean slate requirements from high-level feature concepts
- Decompose requirements to System and domain level requirements (HW/SW Mech)
- Oversee the start to finish development of system level features (Requirements, Data Collection, Feature Development, Validation, SW Test, Embedding, to Execution/Customer Feedback)
Qualifications of the Systems Engineer - Sensing Technologies
- Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) in Electrical, Computer, or other related engineering field.
- 4+ years of experience developing new technology for the automotive, aerospace, or related industry technology
- Strong understanding of the technical workings of sensing technology such as:

- computer vision cameras (visible, NIR, FIR wavelengths)
- time of flight cameras
- lidar
- radar
- A solid grasp of physics to help in understanding new sensing technologies
- Experience in independent requirements development (authoring)
- Ability to independently conduct research and develop novel feature concepts
- Good knowledge of feature development cycle (requirements/validation/SW test/embedding)
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (SysML) and requirements management tools (DOORS, Codebeamer, etc.) is a plus
Compensation of the Systems Engineer - Sensing Technologies
Salary Range: $110,000-135,000/year, depending on experience
Location: Southfield, MI
Type: Direct
Travel: Minimal
