Who we are looking for:

Atkore, a recent recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification, is currently searching for a Shipper I (1st shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m) to be based out of Pueblo, CO. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this person will be responsible for efficiently receiving and shipping of orders as well as movement of materials in the plant.

What you’ll do:

• Receive and assemble order quantities and properly crate orders within requirements set by carriers
• Ensure product is packaged to arrives damage-free by building properly sized pallets, banding, and securing order
• Safely operate forklift to transport crates throughout the facility and on to the carrier truck
• Verify shipment weight
• Accept orders shipped to warehouse, verify quantity and items received and compare to delivery receipt and purchase order, investigate and differences immediately, identify any damage whether visible or concealed and accept or refuse delivery as appropriate
• Breakdown orders received and distribute contents to appropriate locations throughout facility
• Move finished product outside and stage for loading truck
• Move raw materials to production areas as required to maintain production
• Ensure warehouse is maintained in a clean, swept and uncluttered manner at all times, free of hazards, spills, etc.
• Keep trash hoppers empty
• Perform any other tasks appointed by the Supervisor/Shift Lead
• Maintain open communication to ensure continual operation

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent
• Good understanding of math skills required for quick and accurate counting, calculations and measurements
• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organization
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to work with hands, mechanical ability & knowledge
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner
• Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment

Within 3 months, you’ll:

• Must be certified by Atkore to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT)
• Must adhere to Atkore’s Life Savings Rules for PIT at all times and perform all required inspections
• Know and follow plant safety rules and wear proper PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, and high-vis clothing, and gloves, etc.)

Within 6 months, you’ll:

• Zero safety incidents in past 90 days of evaluation date
• Less than 15 attendance points on the date of evaluation
• No documented warnings within 90 days of probationary period
