Overview
NewportMed provides direct services for Nephrology Specialist IPA (NSIPA). NSIPA is a value-based care network that aims to improve the health, wellness, and clinical outcomes of renal patients across aggregated independent nephrology practices. Through the use of medicine, technology, and evidence-based data analytics, clinical patterns are detected, risk stratification performed, and multidisciplinary interventions employed to abrupt or slow the progression of renal disease.
NISPA is currently seeking motivated and compassionate (bilingual, Spanish speaking preferred) Medical Assistants to join our Care Management Program team.
NSIPA Medical Assistant Role
· Complies with NISPA policies, procedures, and protocols
· Understands, adapts to, applies, and communicates policy and procedural changes
· Ensures attendance and punctuality when scheduled, understanding that regular attendance is an essential function of this position
· Problem solver who approaches challenges optimistically and uses problem solving skills to diffuse problems and identify solutions
· Excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to interact with patients from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
· Maintains positive relationships with both patients and fellow staff
· Assists with scheduling appointments
· Checks patients in for appointments
· Examines patients and documents patient needs and complaints
· Arranges for and assists patients in understanding instructions for medical services
· Accurately files patient lab results and other documents
· Tracks timeline of services given to patients
· Keeps track of inventory of supplies and equipment, reporting needs to the Administrator
· Sends information between departments and medical offices
· Performs tasks as directed by Maintains availability to physician
· Maintains confidentiality of patient records and employee information
· Maintains professional relationships and boundaries with patients
· Dedication to caring, professionalism, reliability, accountability, integrity, maturity, and diplomacy
Education Qualification
- High school diploma or its equivalent
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience working in a medical office (preferred)
- Bilingual (preferred, Spanish)
- U.S. Work Authorization
Licensing Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification
- CPR Certification
Work Hours/Location
- Hours: Full-time. 8 hours, 5 days/week Monday-Friday (40 hrs/week)
- Location: Orange County
