Interior Designer

This position provides a significant opportunity for a dynamic person who has a degree in Interior Architecture/Interior Design, 6+ years post graduate experience servicing commercial clients, and desire to take their career to a higher level. This position is for the most part not remote and is in our Honolulu, Hawai'i office. A degree in architecture is a plus.

In this position you will join an established award winning, Honolulu Architecture and Interior Design firm as the number two person in a fast-paced Interior Design Studio environment. You will be expected to successfully contribute in the management of concurrent Client Project/Design project activities while also participating in the ongoing business management and growth of the Interior Design Studio.

You will also need:

  • Exceptional Project Management and Organizational skills;
  • Complete proficiency, not just familiarity, with industry software including InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office applications. Working knowledge of Spexx and/or Studio software a Plus
  • Ability to preparing error free and relevant preliminary and final design presentations and related drawings, construction drawings, and FF&E specifications,
  • Experience and proficiency managing client FF&E procurement and installation activities
  • The ability to render design in the form of drawings or illustrations by hand or using computer-assisted drafting systems (CAD, Revit), Sketch-up, Photoshop, and/or Enscape.
  • Knowledge of suppliers and manufacturers commonly used in contract interior design work
  • Experience working collaboratively with a multi-discipline design team including contractors, architects and engineers
  • Strong knowledge and ability in hospitality and office space planning and furniture systems and able to develop and prepare furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish floor plans, interior elevations and finish schedules

Core markets are hospitality, workplace, restaurant, retail, education, healthcare, and government with a rare residential design project. Our expectation is that you will have the desire, ability, and skills to participate in marketing opportunities including building, maintaining and expanding client relationships and will embrace that as an important part of your responsibilities.

Our in office work hours are generally 8A-5P Monday through Friday and we do allow some remote working after an initial employment period. Some travel, mostly daily, is required.
