Babcock Laboratories, Inc. is looking for a Microbiology Analyst I responsible for the preparation and analysis of microbiological samples at the Imperial Valley Microbiology Laboratory. Responsibilities will include but not limited to processing samples, customer service, process improvement, quality assurance development and helping to ensure that the laboratory meets its goals and objectives. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Tuesday—Saturday from 9:30am– 6:00pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare and analyze samples as assigned in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

· Handle a variety of sample matrices and chemicals on a daily basis

· Set up and maintain instrumentation and equipment for analysis, where needed

· Follow specified Data Review and Validation processes

· Meet regulatory and project specific quality control and turn-around times

· Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure safe working conditions

· Provide excellent customer service; Be reliable and responsive to clients’ needs

Requirements

· Chemistry, Biology, or other related science degree (BA or BS) preferred

· One year of laboratory experience OR no degree with 3—5 years experience

· Computer literacy

· Able to continuously stand and walk

· Experience operating analytical equipment preferred

· Customer service experience preferred
