Florida Atlantic University is seeking Temporary Clinic Assistants/Schedulers, Boca Raton, FL.
Essential Functions Include but Are Not Limited to:
Clinic Scheduler
- As a clinic scheduler, responsible for setting up exams for patients and handle customer service inquiries. Ensure there is enough time between appointments to allow providers to complete certain examinations and procedures. Other clerical duties may include maintaining databases, faxing, and scanning patient histories, answering phones, and updating patient account information.
- Managing all aspects of the daily schedule including but not limited to: scheduling and re-scheduling patient appointments, obtaining and updating patient account information, requesting referrals and medical records from community providers, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, coordinating subsidy-application process with patient and Billing Dept.
- Working collaboratively with the front-office staff to ensure smooth patient experience for all.
- Maintaining a positive and courteous attitude while assisting patients via phone and in-person.
- Remaining knowledgeable of services and programs provided by the Memory and Wellness Center (MWC) and the costs associated with each; inclined to learn and stay current on new programs and services being offered at the Center.
- Adhering to and abiding by all HIPAA Privacy and Security standards throughout.
- Maintaining patient accounts with accurate and updated demographics, contact, and insurance information.
- Verifying, correcting, and updating insurance information in the EMR.
- Data entry and review of details to ensure accuracy.
- Providing detailed directions to our Center to patients and their family members, as needed.
- Regularly reporting to manager current trends, concerns, and suggestions regarding scheduling.
- Attempting to maximize productivity and efficiency of the daily schedule.
- Assisting front-office and meeting a team as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant work experience required.
Fluency in English required.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines required.
Ability to manage a schedule of 8+ providers required.
Knowledge of Insurance and verification required.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
EMR experience required.
Computer-literacy required.
Motivated, self-starter with the ability to take initiative and carry out tasks thoroughly and
effectively required.
Medical office experience required.
Must be familiar with HIPAA confidentiality regulations.
Capability of operating a multi-line telephone while maintaining a caring, positive attitude required.

$16.00 per hour
