Overview
The world’s largest gaming technology company, IGT, has an excellent opportunity for an Intern looking to deliver world-class work that drives sales in a highly competitive industry segment. This position is a key contributor on our award-winning Marketing & Communications team, which oversees major gaming product launches, including large integrated omni-channel launches.
Position Objectives
The Web & Digital Marketing Intern will support (and in some cases own) the development of compelling go-to-market web strategies (with a focus on mobile) and content creation around IGT’s award winning products. This intern will act as the ‘right hand’ of the Sr. Program Mgr and will interface often with Web Services, Product Marketing, Social Media Mgmt, Field Marketing, Digital Leadership, and Creative Services. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and will look to optimize the ‘customer’ web journey across each assigned project. You’ll take care to understand and document the project objective, audience needs, potential use-cases, and how insights from this discovery process should impact page build. As a content creator across product segments, you’ll be responsible for curating content for your web builds, as well as supporting content creation for social media. You’ll be motivated to get your hands dirty during this build process: you’ll share how your approach meets the project goal/objective via visual wireframes and/or you’ll jump into Canva to build a needed social asset. You’ll help set deadlines, gather art assets, and follow your content builds to completion, seeking buy-in and feedback along the way. Lastly, you’ll promise to slide “beep boop beep boop” speak into Microsoft Teams meetings when web pages spool endlessly on sh*tty internet connection days (or when it’s hot, cold, windy, not windy, daytime, nighttime, or … Miller-time).
A successful intern will:
- Be courageous, willing to learn, and ask questions! If you’re a self-starter who has a humble, all-hands-on-deck team mentality – we want you!
- Support IGT.com gaming web presence, including strategy and execution across aspects of product promotion, user-journey improvements, and helping to guide implementation.
- Shadow current Program Mgr to fully understand web development process and marketing operations, then leverage that knowledge to support the creation and implementation of assigned promotional pages and other operational projects.
- Interview product management and other key stakeholders to understand the solution that needs support, leveraging insights to drive planning.
- LOVE writing, SEO copy writing, SEO copy editing, and be a savvy and diligent project manager, able to prioritize tasks, managing multiple projects at once. Preferably owns a cool mug with some kind of word pun (appropriate or inappropriate).
- Jump into the deep end of conducting competitive research to better identify differentiators amongst the competition (WEB), presenting those findings to the team and incorporating insights into campaign strategy.
- Support broader marketing team by conducting best-practice research on web builds and how to optimize on-page SEO health metrics.
- Be prepared to live and breathe PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and on-camera meetings! (Bring the mug)
- Skilled at time management, possess strong follow-up capabilities and be deadline driven in a fast-moving environment where dependencies on other teams for elements vital to your success are driven to on-time completion through relationships and project management.
- Work well independently as well as collaboratively. Won’t be shocked if we give you something administrative to do in addition to all this glorious strategy stuff.
- Love Star Wars (or Harry Potter), Harry Styles (or hate Harry Styles), TikTok (or hate TikTok). Will occasionally forget to wash one’s hair, thinks internet memes are fabulous, can contribute to Netflix or Hulu tea sessions, celebrates national donut day, and knows Rickrolling will be funny forever. Bonus if you love LEGO and FRIENDS.
The successful candidate must be able to produce original, clear, and credible ideas and messages for web channels. The intern selected for this role will be an active listener who can creatively translate ideas (will work very closely with Product & Business Management clients) into best-in-class communications.

Qualifications
- Working knowledge of SEO optimization practices for web
- Successful completion of marketing coursework (B or better).
- Ability to understand and uphold brand standards and consistencies.
- Demonstrated project-management skills.
- Exceptional writing abilities, both technical and creative, for numerous audiences (because we can’t spiel and need your halp).
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage and influence across highly cross-functional teams
- Self-starter with strong time-management skills, with attention to details
- Demonstrates professionalism / savvy regarding internal relationships and interactions, demonstrates good judgement and decision-making skills; ability to manage ambiguity
- Desire to learn and the ability to adapt on short notice
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Can teach our boss how to use her iPhone

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation is $19.50/hour. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .
