JOB SUMMARY:
Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, stocking, picking, kitting, and transporting materials, equipment, and supplies. Maintain inventory stocking levels. Safely operate warehouse vehicles, machines, and equipment within or between departments or sites. Coach safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity to achieve KPI objectives through following standardized work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan the work and monitor performance of warehouse personnel -Partner with management to determine the techniques to be used and apportion the work among warehouse employees to ensure adherence to Bennington quality standards and stay on schedule to meet production requirements.
- Manage a safety focused working environment, ensuring equipment is safely operated and guidelines are followed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on 6S initiatives.
- Perform safety audits and 6S audits.
- Ensure the team adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
- Lead department level improvement initiatives and projects, implement and sustain work process standardization.
- Plan and establish work and overtime schedules, and assignments to meet delivery goals and production sequences.
- Expedite workflow when necessary.
- Encourage engagement through positive communication and recognition.
- Foster professional development through mentoring, coaching, and ongoing training.
- Encourage and conduct high-quality work as necessary to support excellent customer service.
- Participate and make recommendations for developing and improving performance evaluations and interviewing candidates.
- Work with HR and manager to handle employee complaints.
- Support recommending and effectively implementing employee discipline and promotion.
- Analyze data, investigate issues, identify solutions, and recommend actions to improve KPI targets.
- Help develop and track KPI's for warehouse team.
- Determine/control the flow and initiate requisition for materials, supplies, equipment, and tools needed by the team.
- Identify and implement procedures to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency (e.g., on-time and complete shipments).
- Train on all documented processes and procedures.
- Coordinate material transfers and other activities within or between sites and departments for all inventory and non-inventory items.
- Lead team in managing all picks and transfers.
- Initiate shipping claims as appropriate for damaged or lost parts.
- Ensure prompt and safe handling of materials and completion of all material needs within the required timeframe.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with teammates, external vendors, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance to all schedules.
- Plans layout of storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Ensures that all stock is stored in correct locations in the warehouse.
- Maintain promptness regarding Inventory replenishment and Inventory turns (FIFO).
- Sustain inventory accuracy (Adjustment Loss) by ensuring that transactions are initiated timely and accurately.
