The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a Truck Driver/ Warehouse Worker Position for the Kentucky-Tennessee Territory, located in Bristol, TN. Job Summary: Assists in picking up donations by riding in a Salvation Army truck and lifting, carrying, and/or hauling donations into the truck and unloading the same at the warehouse; Assists in maintaining the vehicle in proper working order and in compliance with established standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers Ability to work with people clients, customers, and employees To provide assistance in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner Must meet all DOT requirements for vehicles associated with these positions all times Education and Experience No Formal Education Required And Six months experience lifting and hauling heavy items such as appliances and furniture Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Physical Requirements: Ability to meet attendance requirements Ability to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language Ability to read and follow a map and/or handwritten directions Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (50- 100+ lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Heavy mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
