Systems Engineer (L2 or L3 Support exp. req.) Description

Our client in the IT industry is looking for a Systems Engineer to add to their team in the Passaic County, New Jersey area. You will be responsible for servicing Level 3 support requests, ensuring system operation and functionality for multiple clients, and delegating support tasks to a small team. In addition, you will assist in quoting, designing, and implementing system architecture for new environments and weighing in on new processes and best practices. Ideal candidates will be solutions-oriented self-starters that like to get a job done the right way first by not taking a cookie-cutter approach to technology challenges. Exceptional customer-facing skills and the ability to communicate with non-technical audiences are a must. Experience with an MSP is highly desired. You will spend your time in the office and occasionally onsite at local client locations for implementations and hands-on maintenance. Systems Engineer (L2 or L3 Support exp. req.) Responsibilities

• Support and prioritize incoming service desk requests
• Ensure quick and effective resolution of end-user issues
• Delegate and mentor to the support team
• Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in resolving support requests
• Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate
• Install and configure hardware and software components
• Install antivirus software and ensure virus definitions are up to date
• Server administration via Active Directory, File & Print services, DNS, DHCP
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Assist with network and server solution design and architecture
• Plan and execute onsite client visits and installations
• Contribute to best practices and process optimization

Systems Engineer (L2 or L3 Support exp. req.) Qualification

• 5+ years of overall IT experience required
• Level 2 or Level 3 support experience required
• External customer-facing experience required
• Desktop and server OS - Windows 7, Windows 10, Server 2016 experience required
• Active directory experience required
• Ticketing software experience required
