What you will do (day in the life):
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option s.
- Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle system solutions.
- Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
- Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
- Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
- Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Requirements
- Experience with performing survivability assessments, to include a review of threats, performance issues, degradation or shortfalls, and suggested improvements an operational system, battle management algorithms, and system CONOPs
- Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
- This position requires an active Top Secret Security Clearance prior to start.
Desired Experience:
- GMD or Missile Defense program experience
- Experience with performing testing and data analysis in the areas of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) and Shielding Effectiveness
- Experience with High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP)-hardened hardware or support equipment and USSTRATCOM Instruction SI-501-2
- System Requirements and Verification experience
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review large amounts of data and identify root cause and recommend solutions
- Utilization of Digital Engineering environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
Required Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
