Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing service and maintenance on compression and other rotating equipment, responding to call-outs and troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, monitoring and recording engine hours, gathering oil samples, confirming equipment levels and skids, performing housekeeping duties, and participating in plant functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform routine compressor and rotating equipment maintenance in a timely manner and minimize down time on all equipment.
2. Respond quickly to call-outs and inquiries; diagnose and troubleshoot issues for malfunctioning equipment.
3. Monitor and record engine hours and dates, gather oil samples, monitor unit temperatures, confirm tank levels are maintained, and confirm clean equipment skids; document daily performance on logs as necessary.
4. Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
5. Participate in plant functions such as safety meetings, safety drills, and emergency responses; maintain open communication with supervisors, field and plant operators, and contractors.
6. Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Skill
- Knowledge in the operation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of various types of compression and plant equipment.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency in CAT Engine operation is required.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a safe manner.
- Excellent organization and follow through skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work in a safe manner adhering to all safety practices, procedures and policies.
- Ability to safely operate large commercial truck for maintenance and tools to perform the job.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required Education/Experience
- Relevant work experience in mechanical repair.

JOB LEVELS:
- Mechanic I - Requires three years or less of directly related experience.
- Mechanic II - Requires a minimum of four to eight years of directly related experience.
- Mechanic III - Requires a minimum of nine to fourteen years of directly related experience.
SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:
- This is a safety sensitive position.
- Must be able to work outside in all environments and around heavy equipment. Ability to take rotating shifts and irregular working hours in variable environmental conditions and be able to respond at any time while on-call.
- Some exposure to high noise levels in excess of 85dBA that require ear protection, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and materials that require PPE.
- Work requires a strong emphasis on safety while working with heavy equipment and machinery.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
