Job Description:

This position is office based and reports to the Chief Estimator. The scope of work for the position involves executing computer aided and hand take off estimates of complex structural steel components. This will include an understanding and ability to labor all types of components (basic through complex). This position will be required to lead the execution of a full project estimate and include the development of supporting documentation for the preparation of a complete estimate.

This position will be required to perform take offs of all types of structural steel components and typical detail requirements.

This position will manage other estimators in support of the execution of a project specific estimate.

Support the sales team with participation in project interviews and meetings.

Assist in the training of other estimating staff.

Qualifications Required:

Must have at least fifteen (15) years’ experience in the structural steel industry in similar role.

Must understand means and methods of complex steel fabrication and steel erection processes.

Must have an expert understanding of contract drawings and specifications along with other information related to structural steel

Strong computer skills with knowledge of Bluebeam, Outlook and Microsoft Office. Ability to understand Revit, Tekla and related model software data

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Strong communication skills, written and verbal

Education/Certification Required: Minimum of a BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline, or related experience preferred

Must have construction experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
