Chatham County is seeking enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our Camp family. Being a Camp Counselor develops lifelong skills and helps individuals to explore and expand career goals. Counselors must have a desire to work with children, maintain a positive attitude, and behavior, while serving as a role model to campers by setting proper examples for the children regarding general camp procedures, following the schedule, and sportsmanship. Counselors must also have the desire and ability to work in a cooperative team-orientated atmosphere, have enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and patience. Duties and Responsibilities

• Counselors will provide a memorable and positive camp experience by incorporating and leading passive and active games, art projects, creative activities, outdoor activities and much more. Counselors are required to actively participate with campers in a recreational setting.
• Counselors are responsible for creating a safe and fun camp environment for youth campers by making sure the campers are properly supervised at all times and implementing all safety guidelines.
• Counselors are expected to be role models at all times, pay attention to details, adhere to Chatham County policies and procedures, attend trainings prior to the start of camp, and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Counselors must be at least 16 years old by April 10, 2023.
• Experience working with youth ages 5-14 is a plus, but not required.
• Counselors will work 50 hours per week.
• Counselors must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Hours and Pay

• Spring Break Camp will operate April 10- April 14, 2023, in line with Chatham County School Spring Break
• Spring Break Camp will operate Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm.
• Counselors will be compensated $11.00 per hour
