As a Solution Architect (SA) at SGS, you will help shape and deliver vital warfighter technology critical to the enhancement of national security. This role serves as primary technical and design expertise for utilizing SGS' technology suite to solve customer requirements. In this role, you will engage with a broad variety of defense industry partners, government, and military customers, at times traveling around the world to demonstrate and deploy cutting-edge solutions. Solution architects at SGS also ensure customer requirements and user experiences are purpose-built into the SGS products by maintaining close connections into the product development and engineering teams. This means that as an SA at SGS you will be developing viable technical solutions, influencing roadmaps, and driving innovation.
This role serves as a middle-layer of integration between the business development and engineering teams as well as a bridge into the product and experimentation teams. In addition, this role will also support deal capture by providing solution concepts, prototypes, designs, strategy, and response development support. As those deals turn into awards, the SA may help plan and execute contracts as needed. This is a highly dynamic role with significant components of travel, customer engagement, algorithm and solution development, system integration, and experimentation.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a solid understanding of company capabilities and business strategy - identifies viability of opportunities aligned with strategy and capabilities
- Provide online and in-person product overview and demonstrations of SGS's software products and capabilities to potential customers and partners
- Partner with the sales and business development teams to:
- Respond to RFPs as the technical author on SGS products, technology, and capabilities
- Execute winning account strategies
- Work with prospective customers to gain deep understanding of their technical requirements
- Propose new concepts and solutions to customers
- Serve as a principal technical liaison between sales and product/engineering teams.
- Act as a primary resource in designing, proposing, and prototyping technical solutions
- Proactively influence product roadmaps, soliciting and sharing customer feedback.
- Lead technical solution strategy throughout the capture and proposal lifecycle
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with AI/ML solutions
- BS/BA or higher-level degree in a relevant field
- Experience with technical, customer-facing roles in sales engineering, solutions engineering, data science, data engineering, software engineering and/or consulting in the data analytics / business intelligence market
- Confidence and energy for customer facing interactions
- Strong, hands-on technical background with a consultative approach
- Comfort in explaining complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Passionate about using data, analytics, and technology to meet national security objectives
- Experience in planning, designing, and executing AI/ML and/or big data solutions
- Desire and comfort to work through ambiguous requirements and solutions
- Operational experience in a relevant industry – ie. Defense, Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Energy, or Aerospace
- Outstanding technical writing, communication, presentation, and demo skills
- Fluent generalist in Python or other object-oriented programming language
- Deep understanding of the strengths and pitfalls of a broad variety of AI/ML algorithms
- Experience and ability to rapidly build prototypes and develop new concepts
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable in a dynamic environment
- Travel Required, estimated 30%
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to meet Security Clearance eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree (MS or equivalent) in relevant field
- 5+ years' experience with AI/ML solutions or 5+ years working in a Solutions Architect or Engineering
- Experience working directly with Federal Government / Military customers
- Deep understanding and exposure to Federal Government customers and technology applications
- TS/SCI security clearance
