We are hiring people for our Yonkers locations. The ideal candidate should possess a wide range of skills and are eager to promote YAI's mission of supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, love, work, and learn in their communities.
About the Position:
Assistant Supervisors serve as lead members of the direct care team, providing similar day-to-day functions as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) but with administrative responsibilities including training, scheduling, systems management, and in some cases, directly supervising other DSPs. Depending on the supports needed, Assistant Supervisors may work in a person’s home, in their family’s home, in a YAI residence, at a day habilitation center, or out in the community.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some college preferred
- Prior DSP experience strongly preferred, but not mandatory
- Ability to lead by example and act as a role model within teams
- Interpersonal problem-solving skills
- Ability to accept and apply feedback
- Flexibility in availability
Schedule:
- Sun 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Mon 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Tues 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Wed 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm, and Thurs 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm
- Tues-Sat 3pm-11pm
