SRI is now seeking an experienced Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) to work at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Strengthens human performance and total force readiness by providing nutrition awareness, education and intervention programs while promoting nutrition environment that facilitates healthy eating behaviors targeted at Air Force members
• Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all Health Promotion (HP) nutrition-related prevention programs and services in accordance with (IAW) Air Force Instructions, guidelines, and population needs
• Administers nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, evaluation, counseling, comprehensive nutrition prevention programs, and various other health and nutrition programs/activities that meet needs of the installation community

Required Qualifications

• Graduated from a baccalaureate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university in a didactic program for dietetics approved by the Commission on Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics Education (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Shall have and maintain an active, valid, unrestricted, current license if required. Must be successfully granted provider privileges by the performance location Credentialing Committee and commander and maintain privileges
• Possesses no less than three (3) years of experience in the last 5 years in health promotion, obesity and weight management, lifestyle counseling, sports nutrition or nutrition education. Must have experience coordinating and facilitating group health education classes and activities, organizing and implementing outreach events, and working with beneficiaries across the age spectrum
• Attend and successfully complete the Health Promotion Workshop targeted at new employees within 18 months of hire. If travel is required, the ordering location will use a reimbursable travel contract line item
• Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) or Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
• Use basic computer applications for word processing, record keeping, presentations, and nutrition assessment (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Outlook and any additional electronic medical record, patient documentation as needed)
• Role model in weight, fitness, and other healthy lifestyle behaviors
• Possess good verbal and written communication, ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals, and ability to use technology to present and convey the information effectively
• Executes nutrition policy and standardized program requirements IAW instruction and guidance established by AF/SG and communicated through AFMSA HP and the Air Force Associate Chief for Nutrition and Dietetics
• Uses evidence-based principles, practices and procedures of the science of dietetics and behavior change and public health environmental theories required to plan, implement and evaluate Health Promotion (HP) nutrition programs
