Title: Quality Engineer

Overview

The Quality Engineer will improve the Quality system that ensures shipment of quality products to NVIC customers. Must have focus in the areas of addressing customer complaints, scrap reduction and re-work. Will help ensure compliance of relevant procedures described in the QMS and will also communicate the impact of quality activities and customer complaints to Management and NVIC Associates.

Duties

• Acts as the face of the Company when responding to customer complaints. Executes containment activities and subsequent analysis.
• Work with Engineering to develop and implement short and long term countermeasures. Assist Engineering and Manufacturing with process improvement activities.
• Responsible for quality gates and non-compliance follow up
• Dimensional inspection utilizing Romer arm, creating PPAP documentation
• Provide leadership and guidance for root cause analysis and other problem solving methodologies
• Collect and analyze data for gage and product evaluation. Assist with calibration and materials testing.
• Generate written instructions compliant with ISO requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree preferred but substantial equivalent work experience will be considered (minimum five years related experience in quality assurance)
• CMM inspection experience
• Comprehensive understanding of the three-dimensional inspection methods and GD&T
• Broad understanding of engineering practices and principles
• General knowledge of castings and/or forgings is a plus

Working Conditions

Work area is normally heat/air-conditioned in an office type environment with time spent in a shop floor environment. Hard-hat, safety glasses, earplugs, and steel-toed boots are required on production floor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
