Continuing our housing programs and wrap-around services in a targeted 12-block area, we have created a total of 137 affordable homes and apartments, and we work with other neighborhood stakeholders to undertake community development projects and services that continue to enrich the lives of the Southeast Chicago area.
JOB SUMMARY
Claretian Associates is searching for a full-time Program Manager to develop and administer comprehensive programs, and events focused on recreation, health & wellness, digital literacy, and manage rentals for the Claretian Associates Salud Center. Manages program activities from a recreation facility to ensure participants' safe, healthy, educational, and robust social environment. This position develops solutions to non-routine issues, with appreciable guidance from others and exercises significant latitude in determining the best approaches to critical assignments. The schedule includes nights, weekends, and as dictated by events and programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and reviews the operating strategies, plans, procedures, and coordinating documentation to uphold as policies and/or standard operating procedures.
- Oversee a wide variety of programming and special events, family and youth activities, and classes administer and monitor established budget for programs, equipment, and services; recommends annual operating budget based on objectives and needs; maintains complete and precise records of expenses.
- Oversee the rental spaces of Salud Center, including but not limited to reservations for the coordination of setting up, scheduling staff, and overseeing details of all rental and including payments. In addition opening and closing of the facility depend on rentals.
- Participates in the setup and breakdown of programming equipment and supplies. Work in with facility staff to oversee the facility's maintenance and its equipment; notify the appropriate staff to help coordinate all preventative, routine, and repair maintenance with the salud center.
- Plans daily, weekly, and monthly program calendars; processes registrations and schedules staff and volunteer to meet the needs of program delivery
- Maintains records of program participation, payments collected, and other administrative and
- Responds to the public's inquiries via phone and in writing; resolves customer concerns, complaints, and problems.
- Recruits, interviews, on boards, and supervises part-time staff and volunteers for administrative support, class instruction, and other areas of need; creates all necessary training materials needed for the team.
- Participates in community outreach efforts and marketing to promote the programs available and sustain participant registration and expansion
- Participates and attends various community meetings as needed
- Establishes and maintains relationships with other agencies and organizations in the community to ensure community satisfaction and to ensure that programs and services are not duplicated
- Responsible for collecting and gathering data and additional information needed to assess the effectiveness of programming and participants satisfaction
- Maintains a safe environment for volunteer staff and attendees
- Schedules, trains, motivates, and evaluates staff/ volunteers; provides or coordinates staff training; works with staff/volunteers to correct deficiencies
- Be adaptable to change as needed to accommodate the needs and programming of the overall salud center and Claretian Associates organization needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, community development, recreation, or a related field; supplemented by more than five (5) years of directly-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Experience work with youth and vulnerable populations.
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced knowledge of emergency procedures, including First Aid and CPR
- Considerable knowledge of management and operation of recreation facilities and equipment
- Significant understanding of events coordination and planning
- Working knowledge of current practices and program offerings for public recreation centers/organizations
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and applicable department / organization-specific software
- Skill in collaborating with all types of groups and organizations
- Skill in public speaking and group engagement
- Skill in providing good customer service
- Skill in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently to achieve customer and quality objectives
- Ability to develop, organize and implement a well-rounded activities program
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and completely, following established protocol
- Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Ability to use reasoning skills that minimize duplication of efforts, including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing, and coordinating
- Prepare a variety of reports and presentations and understand contract documents.

- Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks in a high-volume work environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure that deadlines are met

WORK HOURS
This is a full-time, exempt position with a flexible schedule. Nights, Saturday, and Sunday hours are required, there is some flexibility based on the events calendar, plus additional flextime during the week.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary is in the $40,000-42,000, commensurate with experience.
