Preschool Assistant Teacher (10 Month)

Full Time: 40 hours/week - Monday through Friday - Daytime hours

This is an hourly position with starting pay depending upon qualifications:

• $15.50: High School Diploma/Equivalent
• $16: CDA (Youth In Need will pay for and help you obtain)
• $17.43: Associate's Degree (must be Early Childhood or related field)
• $19.76: Bachelor's Degree (must be Early Childhood or related field)

Required Education, Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum of a Pre-School Child Development Associate (CDA) or actively enrolled in a program leading to an associate or bachelor degree in Early Childhood/Child Development, or enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire. Related degree or credential will be considered with at least 12 hours in ECE/Child Development course work equivalent to a CDA with a focus in pre-school development. (NAEYC)
• One or more years working with children 3-5 years or equivalent, in a Head Start Program or a licensed Community Child Care program, preferred.
• Effective classroom management, lesson planning, individualizing for children, and developmentally appropriate practice. Individual must be sensitive to the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the service population. Knowledge of Microsoft office products and ability to navigate program specific software. Ability to be CPR certified required
