Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Plant Accountant. Are you looking for a long term position with a stable company? If so, then look no further. Our Union Bridge, MD cement plant is looking for someone who is hardworking and dedicated to become part of the team. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for all aspects of the accounting functions at the plant.

The position will reside in Union Bridge, MD.

What you will get to do:

• Physical inventory for packhouse, raw materials and bulk cement
• Monthly plant closings based on timeline and guidelines provided by SSC-Cement and requirements of Region management
• Oversee raw material entry into SAP
• Backup for daily production reporting
• Balance Sheet account analyses
• Prepare internal and external managerial reports and statistics
• Prepare annual operating production plan, standard cost development and cost center planning
• Coordinate maintenance budget daily, monthly, yearly and forecast with Maintenance management
• Prepare forecasts as required (financial and capital)
• Fixed Asset function
• Operate all accounting functions within a union atmosphere
• Follows all safety policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment

Who we are looking for:

• BS degree in Accounting, Business or related field
• 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to perform cost/benefit analysis for capital expenditures, month-end processing, forecasting/budgeting and physical inventory
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
• Strong oral, written communication and interpersonal skills;
• Strong computer skills including Excel; SAP knowledge a plus
