Packer Job Description: Top Duties and Qualifications

This job is Monday-Thursday 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. CST.

Must be able to be on your feet, lift up to 50lbs and work at a good speed to keep up with the picking process. This position is in a warehouse that can require being able to tolerate heat and cold during the different seasons.

We are seeking a warehouse employee whose main responsibilities will be for fulfilling orders by arranging inventory in shipping boxes and preparing them for shipment to decrease breakage or shifting. This persons duties will include interpreting order invoices and scanning each item into the picking system to determine that the correct items are being packed and sent out for each order, performing quality control assessments and placing items safely and securely in the right packaging. This position does require the use of a computer system and using shipstation - so must be comfortable with computers and be able to perform basic computer tasks as well as learn new computer skills. This person will be required to re-stock shelves as needed. This person will be cross-trained on how to pick orders also.

Packer/Shipper Duties and Responsibilities
A Packer/Shipper will have the following duties and responsibilities at this place of work:

• Weighing packages and labeling them appropriately
• Inspecting packages to ensure they are packed to withstand shipping.
• Filling out packing and order forms with the relevant shipping information
• Seal shipping boxes correctly and labeling them appropriately
• Attention to detail is key skill for this position & ability to follow directions.
• Clean shipping area and order shipping supplies when needed
• Restock items on shelf daily.
• Must be able to use a computer/tablet properly.
• Work well with others while maintaining friendly attitude.

This job can include picking orders, packing orders, shipping orders, cleaning and organizing warehouse, inventory etc. and is not limited to what is described in this ad.
