Job Description

Our client, a leading food service company, is looking for a Microbiologist to join their team. If you have the required experience and are up for a challenge, this could be a great opportunity for you. Responsibilities include:

1) Perform microbiological testing of process and product representative samples according to current and approved methods in an accurate manner

2) Make sure all testing records, certificates, materials and products disposition are accurate and up-to-date for ease in the analysis of the concerned

3) Conduct internal audits, such as glass and brittle plastic and warehouse GMP audit

4) Lead the environmental monitoring program

5) Initiate and document corrective actions, as needed

6) Be accountable for the product retention and incubation programs

7) Participate in process variance investigation as well as in productivity and quality improvement projects together with colleagues in other departments

8) Assist with customer complaint investigations

9) Provide reporting of monitoring audit results

10) Ensure the reliability, functionality and on-time calibration of the micro laboratory equipment

11) Author, maintain and train against micro laboratory SOPs

12) Assist with designing and conducting challenge studies and special projects, as needed

13) Practice GLP, laboratory safety and housekeeping procedures in accordance with food safety and quality policies

14) Follow good manufacturing practices

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the food service industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research and development

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
