Medical Student Education Coordinator-Remote eligible Job at The University of Iowa
The University of Iowa Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Acad Clin Prog Mgt Associate (Clerkship Program Coordinator) to provide administrative management and curricular expertise for the medical student education program in the department. This position is eligible to participate in remote work depending on the candidate's location and interest. Successful candidates who participate in remote work must comply with requirements of the remote work program and related policies.
Duties to include:
- Administers/manages the required Family Medicine preceptorship
- Instructs students on content, objectives, and conduct of required third year rotation
- Recruitment, retention, and training of community preceptors
- Administer Medical Education Community Orientation program (MECO)
- Prepare and analyze date for periodic program reports
- Serve as representative for medical student education within the department
- Coordinates learner placement at the Department of Family Medicine Clinics

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some (6 months-1 year) related administrative and program experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
- Proficiency in computer software applications (word processing), data analysis and database management software required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Ability to relate to the public, Iowa family physicians, students, and University personnel at all levels highly desirable.
- Experience working in ICON and MAUI (course management software)
- Experience working with a student population (ideally at the post graduate level)
- Experience in public speaking and public program representation
- Knowledge of UI College of Medicine policies and procedures.
