Mechanical Engineer – Warehouse Operations - $145 to 155K base + Bonus + Full Benefits

Our client, a leader in their industry is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support their warehousing and distribution operations.

You will be responsible for applying innovative scientific tools and methods to resolve and optimize supply chain (warehousing & distribution) operations – driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Identify operational problems by observing and studying the functioning and performance of various warehouse systems.

Provides operational management information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing operating and engineering trends.

Develops operational solutions by studying and testing alternative approaches.

Lead from the front, driving pace, accuracy of all major WMS and other systems to ensure seamless launches.

Management of all current and future operational processes across WMS’s and future designs.

Work with IT, Industrial Engineers to understand work methods, labor practices etc…

Manage mechanical systems for new/existing automated machinery to enable automation of distribution processes for inbound and outbound operations.

Support DC launches and go-live periods, facilitate training and testing of systems.

Ensure existing and future systems are standardized and meet service level/customer commitments.

Able to develop, maintain and grow relationships with clients, customers and team members.

Investigate complaints, problems and suggestions by interviewing supervisors/operators.

Identify priorities by assessing operational objectives like cost savings and energy conservation.

Partner with operations on budget management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (or IE) or equivalent experience

6 Years + experience in engineering, distribution operations and automation

Proficient with various systems: Various WMS, MS office, 3D CAD

Experience working in an automated warehousing and distribution operation

Solution oriented, with learning mindset and ability to understand business challenges

Proficient in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 6-Sigma)

Previously managed large systems including WMS implementations and upgrades

Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule travel may be required

Proficient in data mining/SQL/Database

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $145,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
