This position coordinates the federal Maternal Child Health Title V Block Grant for New Mexico.
How does it get done?
- Coordinates the reporting requirements and program performance monitoring required for the block grant
- Conducts local and statewide needs assessments and works with epidemiologists and Title V director to select and communicate health priorities
- Assists in fiscal tracking and grant reporting requirements for the Title V budget
- Coordinates community input and programming for early childhood health initiatives
- Serves as a liaison with the Early Child Education and Care Department on early childhood health and safety programs
- Coordinates updates and media communications for the MCH population health concerns; manages health communications and data translation in a variety of media and data products

4- Experienced in health communications or able to learn data translation and communications methods
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting: late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation. Incumbent may be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments.
