Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions Cleveland is looking for a Material Handler.
Purpose of the Position:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Material Handler, handles, moves and stores various materials within our warehouse. Main duties include loading and unloading different transport items, recording inventory statuses, making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders, and keeping work centers staged with components.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials, parts or containers to be moved to appropriate location to support work orders, assembly lines, shipping dept, weld dept, or assigned work area
- Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and checks them utilizing the proper receiving and inspection procedures
- Responsible for transporting material off and on trailers
- Responsible for efficiently and safely loading trailers for the transport of material in accordance with the routing solution
- Identifies damaged material
- Documents inbound and outbound transactions
- Responsible for basic equipment maintenance (horn, flashing beacon, fluid levels, fire extinguisher, fueling, personnel protective equipment (PPE), proper packaging)
- Housekeeping (sweeping, cleaning, straightening)
- Load and unload trucks
- Move parts in process as required
- Participate in job rotation through each cell which addresses cross-training and ergonomic issues
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be computer literate, experience with inventory systems preferred
- Well organized, strong written & verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic and highly motivated
- Must be comfortable working in team environment
Experience:
- 1-2 years in material handling / warehouse position
- Must have good understanding of safe practices
- Must have good organization and housekeeping skills
- Safe work record and stable work history
- Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport product, load/unload trucks
