Marketing / Branding / Retail Merchandising Job at Nassau Candy
Nassau Candy, wholesale manufacturer and distributor of confectionery and gourmet food products is looking for an in-house Product Development Branding Coordinator to join our talented team in Hicksville!
Reporting to the Director of Brand Strategy, this position serves as a key functional partner who works collaboratively with Marketing, Merchandising, and Production to bring the best product to market.
The ideal candidate is a passionate and highly organized individual who is well versed in the development and sourcing process and can thrive in a deadline-driven work environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the development and creation of product offerings with a key focus on in-house brands
- Support requests from internal stakeholders and sales/broker teams to fulfill private label and branded programs
- Conduct research regarding new product and packaging ideas
- Coordinate new product development including market & product research, competitive analysis, timeline development, sourcing, costing, and packaging
- Assist with product costing breakdown and bill of materials development, including raw materials, components, labor and other costs to determine pricing
- Manage procedures such as sample log and placing/tracking orders
- Work with Quality Control to ensure all new vendor documentation needed is collected and approved from third party vendors
- Communicate with domestic and third-party vendors for obtaining pricing stock and other information, request samples, and finalize information for purchasing, marketing, production, and other departments
- Assist in creatively conceptualizing product category launches around customers’ needs and seasonal requirements.
- Work with leadership to establish brand guidelines, metrics, and standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams to establish and articulate brands missions, and ensure that all products, services, and communications are consistently reflected on all platforms.
- Monitor the quality and integrity of the company’s products and services and respond as needed to ensure brand alignment.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of product or process development experience in CPG or related field
- Experience in retail merchandising, marketing, and social media
- Passion for trendspotting
- Strong research, analytical, and computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced and high performing environment with autonomy
- Organizational skills & ability to manage multiple projects and assignments
- Communication skills: interpersonal, presentation, oral and written
- Food & Beverage experience is a plus
