The Data Entry Nurse will help coordinate the functions of the nursing department to insure that residents are provided quality care. This position will work Monday - Friday, 11:00am - 7:30pm.(May be required to work additional hours to meet the needs of the facility.)

Job Responsibilities:

• Contact person for physician- call physician with admission order verification
• Follow-up on resident labs and verify orders for admission labs
• Handle admission of new residents
• Input information into LTC system, including new orders and labs
• Keep active medical records current, including ICD10 codes
• Maintain appropriate order for work materials at workstation
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information according to HIPAA regulations
• Code physician orders
• Round on units every 2 hours and input new orders
• Assist admissions office to review referrals
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Participate in Manager on Duty rotation
• Fill-in for charge nurse position on a limited basis

Other Functions:

• Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
• Consistently work cooperatively with administration, nursing service personnel, physicians, community agencies, residents, families, and consultants
• Consistently present a professional appearance
• Perform all duties assigned in a cooperative, effective, timely, and professional manner
• Observe all facility policies and procedures
• Observe Residents' Rights policies at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be LPN, licensed to practice in State of TN
• LTC experience
• Computer experience is a must
• Ability to interact professionally with residents, resident families, rehab personnel, and other staff
• Must have patience, tact, enthusiasm, and understanding for geriatric population
• Must have excellent Written and spoken communication skills
• Team Player
• Self-directed and assertive
