The Department of Kinesiology at Rice University invites applications for a full time, benefits eligible lecturer position in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology, beginning July 1, 2023. This is a 9-month renewable appointment including additional administrative and teaching opportunities during the summer. The position is 75% teaching and 25% administrative/service/scholarship. Primary teaching duties include core courses in the Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology curriculum, development of lab courses in exercise physiology, and coordinating undergraduate internships. Administrative duties will be based on program needs and include managing both a teaching lab and human performance research lab. - PhD preferred, but master’s degree considered, in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or a related field (degree must be conferred by May 2022).
- While a doctoral degree is preferred, candidates holding a master’s degree with hands-on experience with exercise testing and prescription in a clinical setting are also encouraged to apply.
- The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with exercise testing and prescription in a clinical setting.
- Two or more years of teaching in higher education is highly desirable.
- ACSM certifications (ACSM-EP or ACSM-CEP) preferred.
