JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Research (ADGER) office, in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS), is seeking a Lead Post Award Coordinator (Proposal and Award Generalist Level 4) .

Research Administration professionals work with our distinguished researchers, performing a variety of business and financial duties that enable our researchers to obtain funding and manage the awards that support their vital work. We are looking for a candidate to join our highly respected team of Research Administration professionals in a fast-paced, innovative, and service-first environment.
This position has the potential to be performed fully remote or as a hybrid of remote and on-site working.
This position will be responsible for supervising post-award staff and overseeing the post-award functions and award management processes for all sponsored research administered in the College. EMS administers over 500 active awards with annual funding exceeding $50M for a wide range of federal, Commonwealth, and industry sponsors.
Specific duties include:
Monitor staff workload and activity; analyze and interpret award requirements; respond to and resolve issues that arise throughout the post-award lifecycle.
Hold the Research Office Budget Approver (ROBA) role in SIMBA; review and approve all budget uploads and subaward invoice payments. Review and approve all subaward initiation and modification requests in SIMS.
Obtain and exercise post-award Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) authority for submission of financial reports, no-cost extensions, change of PI requests, and other sponsor-required notifications and communication.
Perform post-award tasks and award administration; initiate account setup; execute budget actions; initiate and monitor subawards; track cost share commitments; prepare and submit sponsor financial reports, and oversee account close-out.
Collaborate, communicate and resolve issues with EMS research faculty and administrative staff, Research Accounting, and other administrative units across the University supporting EMS research.
Coordinate with the Director of Research Administration on the resolution of complex, controversial, or unprecedented issues.
Collaborate with the Director of Research Administration to develop and implement processes that ensure thorough and efficient post-award administration.
Expand knowledge of best practices and incorporate them into work assignments, and prioritize customer service and collaboration across EMS departments and institutes.
Maintain cognizance of all University research administration policies and procedures, relevant federal and state regulations, and other sponsor policies pertaining to the conduct of research by Universities.

Education and Experience:
This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
