Junior Detailer Position Description
We are looking for junior detailer/3D modelers who are interested in structural concrete construction. This position requires the ability to provide and coordinate structural concrete model for BIM coordination and generate 2D drawings for project team. Construction experience is a MUST, with a background in structural concrete highly preferred. Including the ability to review construction drawings and documents, and create drawings based on the Architectural and Structural drawings for use by field crews. The frequent use Revit, Tekla Structures and other 3D software is necessary. This position reports to the Detailing Manager and is based out of our San Marcos Regional office.
Junior DetailerTypical Duties and Responsibilities
- Review contract documents and coordinate with project team any necessary requests for information
- Create 3D concrete model using Tekla Structures or Revit
- Attend all required BIM coordination meetings and discuss any potential conflicts with proposed design
- Generate 2D drawings derived from coordinated model to the project team for submission and internal us
- Modify model and post responses with any new information regularly
- Attend internal meeting to discuss weekly progress
- Works as a team with Project Superintendents, Project Managers, and Detailers on structural concrete construction projects.
- Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Junior Detailer Position Requirements
- 1 Year detailing/drafting experience with use of Tekla Structures or Revit
- Intermediate plan/blueprint reading experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Periodically travel between Southern California projects
- Completer literate
- Ability to manage time and switch between tasks
- Keep track of many different projects at the same time
- Desire to learn concrete construction and detailing
- Communicate and work with a team at a high level
- Degree in Engineering or Architecture preferred but not required.

Junior Detailer Physical Demands
- Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are necessary.
- Mental alertness is necessary to ensure accurate and thorough completion of work activities.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods and efficiently operate computer, calculator, copier, fax and other business office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift boxes of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs in various climatic conditions.
