Position Overview
We are looking for passionate, thoughtful, and creative emerging talent to join our R&D Internship Development Program beginning on or around June 2023 and ending on or around December 2023 to work on one of a variety of projects, including but not limited to:
- Development of mixing and coating processes for pilot-scale manufacture of next-generation battery cells
- Development of multiphysics models for application-specific cell design
- Development of structure-property relationships for novel cathode materials
The successful applicant will be assigned a project based on their experience and internal needs and work with their Mentor and Manager to design and conduct experiments. At the conclusion of the internship, you will be expected to document their project in detail and present your findings to the group. This is an excellent opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and will undoubtedly open up further career opportunities.
Qualifications
- Currently working towards a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in a relevant engineering program such as Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with a desired focus on Battery Technology
- Ability to spend 6+ months onsite at NantG Power’s Los Angeles R&D Center, beginning in the Spring/Summer of 2023 and terminating in the Fall/Winter of 2023. Preference will be given to candidates who can spend at least 6 months in our facilities.
- Strong communication, documentation and organizational skills
- Considerable knowledge of battery fundamentals and practical trade-offs
Job Location: Culver City, CA
Salary: $25.00 per hour
- All hires are based upon successful completion and passage of a background check.
