Woods Oviatt, a quickly growing full-service law firm, is seeking an Instructional Design Manager in our IT department. The Instructional Design Manager will train new employees on technology systems and support technology rollouts and upgrades. This individual will also analyze existing workflows, identify ways our current software can better suit our needs, find opportunities for process improvements, and build and test prototypes.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide new hire technology training and follow-up for attorneys and staff members
  • Provide user support and training for technology rollouts and upgrades
  • Host technology webinars (lunch-and-learn sessions) that demonstrate best practices for using Firm software
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of training programs
  • Assist with documentation and promotion of best practices in the use of new technologies
  • Promote awareness of tools and resources, solicit attorney and staff participation in initiatives, and gather feedback
  • Research, evaluate, and report on third-party products, services, resources, and tools to improve internal and client service delivery
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend practice innovation software and tools focused on enhancing efficiency, speed, accuracy, and collaboration and which reduce or remove administrative or non-productive work burdens from attorneys and staff
  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing and emerging technologies into practices and assist in coordinating pilot and proof-of-concept programs
  • Manage and support the design, development, implementation, and integration efforts for client-facing or internal-facing products, services, and solutions
  • Assist in the design of client-facing or internal-facing products
  • Assist in the coordination, management, and execution of technology projects and initiatives, using proven and effective project management techniques and tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
  • Two to five years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical skills
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and with others, in a cooperative and collaborative manner and to provide excellent client service in all interactions
  • Project management experience/skills - ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience with Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Kofax, Articulate Storyline, SurePoint, iManage, or similar applications strongly preferred
  • Prior law firm experience, including experience with legal-specific software applications preferred.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time to other Firm offices with additional travel required during peak training or rollout periods
