ROLE SUMMARY
The Sr. HR Generalist is a hands-on expert responsible for the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs.
They will be responsible for full cycle recruiting, sourcing for exempt and non- exempt positions for various departments across the Company, interviewing candidates, scheduling interviews with the business, extending and negotiating offers, and managing the onboarding process.
This role will also provide support and guidance on terminations, performance management, training and development, employee relations, leave administration, compensation and benefits administration, payroll utilizing HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between employees and management.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Sr. HR Generalist Duties:
· Development and administration of employee policies (employee handbook)
· Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
· Develop and implement programs to help improve the employee experience
· Identify ways to improve policies and procedures
· Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and other compliance matters
· Leaves of absence administration
· Employee relations and conflict resolution
· Compensation and benefits administration
· Support the onboarding and integration efforts related to M&A activities
Recruiting Duties:
· Works closely with management to fill open positions. Post jobs, phone-screen, and interview all candidates to ensure the company is attracting and hiring the best available candidates.
· Retrieves and reviews resumes from company website
· Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with staffing firms to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates
· Ensure staffing firm contracts are in place and in compliance with the Company’s expectations
· Coordinates and schedules candidate interviews with the business
· Communicates with HR Director and hiring manager throughout the search process
· Identifies potential candidates through various forms of recruitment such as screening resumes and conducting phone screens with potential candidates
· Interviews candidates virtually and onsite
· Manages the scheduling of candidate interviews, follow up and the timely completion of pre-employment paperwork
· Perform onboarding and new hire orientation
· Ensure all company practices are in accordance with standard operating processes
· Maintain pipeline of candidates for future placements
· Maintains a tracking system for follow up and reporting
· Plans and facilitates regularly scheduled recruiting meetings with HR Director and Leaders
· Strategizes, coordinates and follows up on all recruitment activities
· Performs recruitment advertising on social media, public and university job boards, etc.
· Negotiates starting salaries and administers offer packets
· Tracks and distributes recruiting metrics
· Maintains the internal job board
· Ensures recruiting contracts and agreements are in line with the Company’s
expectations
· Support the creation and revisions of job descriptions
· Consistent and prompt attendance
· Other duties as required and assigned
ROLE COMPETENCIES
· Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
· 5+ years of job-related HR generalist experience strongly preferred
· 5+ years of recruiting experience strongly preferred for exempt and non-exempt positions
· HR certification is preferred
· Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
· Experience working with HRIS, ATS, and performance management systems
· Experience in effectively working in a cross-functional environment, interacting with multiple departments
· Possesses a polished and professional image
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize priorities that change frequently
· Energetic, driven personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative
· Strong working knowledge of behavioral interviewing
· Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers
· Excellent planning and organizational skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Demonstrated ability to use discretion and remain confidential with sensitive information
· Responds well in a stressful, dynamic environment
· Flexible, uses critical thinking skills and open to learning new ideas/skills
· Cooperative and willing to assist others
· Positive attitude and team player
· Ability to work with all levels of staff and management
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
