General Maintenance

JOB DESCRIPTION:

With over 200 years in business, wood is in our blood at J. Gibson McIlvain. As it was in the late 18th century, it is the same today. At J. Gibson Mcilvain we run a full millwork at our Lumber Yard in White Marsh, MD. We are actively seeking new employees as our business expands. Qualified applicants should have experience working in a lumber yard but it is not required!

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. This opportunity is for onsite work at the White Marsh Maryland Lumber Mill facility. Traditional weekly hours, Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, occasional later hours may apply. A proactive maintenance mechanic with the ability. ESSTENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Diesel engine knowledge, forklift repair and maintenance.
• Boiler and pressure vessel knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair material handling and lumber milling equipment.
• Maximize equipment operation by creating and scheduling preventative maintenance.
• Direct, maintain and enforce safety standards for maintenance department.
• Stay updated on equipment and machinery knowledge with continuing education on proper operation and maintenance of each machine.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5 years in maintenance role preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, ability to troubleshoot various equipment/machines.
• Organizational and Analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Schedule - 6:00 to 3:30 ( must be flexible based off the needs of the business)
