We are seeking a part-time Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer for our Denver, CO operations.
The selected candidate will support a variety of environmental projects and programs. Opportunities in this role will include, but are not limited to, multimedia sampling (including air), oversight of operations, preparation of reports and tables, review of data, and other miscellaneous tasks. Projects include emergency response, super-fund removal actions, remedial action sites, orphaned-well plugging and assessment, due diligence (Phase 1 and Phase II assessments), and lead based paint/asbestos assessments.
In addition, responsibilities may include training presentations, preparation of statement of qualifications and proposals, and other consulting activities. Work for other government and private sector clients in these areas is also possible.
Job Requirements:
This position requires 0 to 3 years of experience to years of environmental sampling / consulting or related field experience. The ideal candidate will also have experience with:
- Multimedia sampling and field work preferred.
- Remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality, ecological restoration, and water resources is desirable.
- GIS data analysis and geostatistics, coding (VBA, Python, etc.), and data management skills is a plus.
- Previous work on EPA projects is a plus.
We are seeking applicants that are eager to learn, customer/client focused, and work well with others in a team environment.
- You must be able drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
- Passing a background check is required.
Degree / Certifications
- B.A/B.S. in Environmental Science or related degree required.
- 40-hour OSHA is a plus.
- Travel is required. Travel frequency is based on project requirements. This could include weekend travel for work.
- Must be able to work in all types of various weather conditions, both hot and cold, while performing field work outside
- Heavy lifting of field sampling and other equipment is required.
- Must meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work.
The Salary Range for this position is $30.00/hour to $32.00/hour.
