Mission East Dallas Family Health Center (MED) is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing primary care for medical and dental health services to the communities of far East Dallas, Mesquite and surrounding areas. MED is one of the few providers in the area that offers affordable care to the medically underserved in our community. As a Level 3 accredited Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), we provide comprehensive and coordinated services to a culturally diverse patient population
We are actively recruiting for a full-time bi-lingual (Spanish-English) Outreach & Enrollment Specialist with experience in the outpatient medical practice setting. The language requirement is preferred, but not required.
If you have any experience at a Community Health Center (CHC) or with a Sliding Fee Scale program (SFS) or you want to play a role in creating access to care for individuals and their families, please read-on!
Our hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 7:30a-6:00p and Friday 7:30a-1:00p.
RESPONSIBILITES:
The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist plays a critical role in facilitating access to care by performing the key functions of: Enrolling patients in and maintaining an accurate Sliding Fee Scale (SFS)
The Sliding Fee Scale (SFS) program allows patients discounts on the costs of the medical and dental services based-on their income.
The vital role you will play involves:
- Sliding Fee Scale (SFS) Program
- Obtain demographics and appropriate income to determine eligibility for financial assistance programs.
- The Specialist will work with or contact the patient to review the SFS Program and required documentation when the patient presents in-person or on the telephone
- Affordable Care Act (ACA) Enrollment
- Complete certification training in a timely manner
- Comply with Affordable Care Act (ACA) enrollment guidelines and compliance requirements
- Medicaid Enrollment
- Assist patients in determining eligibility for Medicaid plans
- Assist with Community Events and Outreach
- Attend Outreach and Enrollment training as needed
- Be a team player, with the ability to cross train for the Front Desk position as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or other related experience
- Knowledge of physician business office procedures
- Proficiency in the operation of a computer and other office equipment, eCW preferred
- Spanish-English bilingual preferred. If NOT Bilingual, must be able to utilize the translation service line.
- Medical Front Desk experience preferred
- Ability to travel to related training seminars and community events
- Must be detail-oriented
