Westminster Foods is seeking a reliable and skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician who is responsible for analyzing and correcting electrical and electronic problems throughout the plant, repairing, and overhauling electrical equipment, controls, and troubleshooting. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for/or guiding other Technicians on performing preventative maintenance for equipment, controls, machinery, and building needs.

- Plan details of working procedure by determining equipment/machinery needs and develop a logical, pragmatic approach to correct the problem.
- Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electrical/electronic devices and systems.
- Receive wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs and inspection work to be performed.
- Service electrical/electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit boards, and controls.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical cables, power distribution cables, and splicing pieces as necessary.
- Fabricate parts when necessary, using machines and/or hand tools common to the trade.
- Determine the need for, analyze, and make necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
- Advise and communicate potentially dangerous electrical/electronic equipment and machinery problems.
- Follow and ensure all lockout/tag-out procedures related to electrical, equipment, machines, and other forms of energy are followed.
- Communicate potential equipment problems and dangers.
- Perform routine maintenance/cleaning duties in the Department on equipment and area.
- Work in close association with Management, Supervisor, and other employees regarding maintenance.
- Attend and participate in departmental and/or company meetings as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 2-year technical degree in Electrical, Maintenance or related field preferred or commiserate education/experience in electrical Vocational Education field required.
- Experience in machine and equipment repair, specifically related to electrical repair. Must have a thorough understanding of electricity.
- Welding or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Familiarity with PLCs and control systems required.
- Food manufacturing experience beneficial.
- Familiarity with packaging machines is a plus.
- Must possess detailed knowledge of wiring practices and electronic supplies/inventory.
- Ability to read, write, follow verbal, written instructions, and have a thorough understanding of electrical/electronic basics and procedures.
- Able to understand and troubleshoot a variety of electrical and electronic machinery, equipment, components, and structures.
- Possess excellent figure aptitude and arithmetic skills and an ability to work accurately with electricity.
- Detailed knowledge and application of electrical safety practices. Follow regulatory, company, and departmental procedures implicitly.
- Perform work with little supervision and able to make autonomous decisions.
- Willingness to work overtime, abnormal work hours, and weekends as necessary.
