Assists in surgical procedures as directed by the Mohs surgeon, while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplishment goals. Educational and Licensure requirements are fulfilled as per professional designation. Specific functions are:

1. Adapts communication style to each patient's ability to understand; collects basic subjective and objective data as directed by the licensed health care provider and records in the patient medial record. Reports data to the licensed health care provider.

2. Ensure patient is appropriately prepared for care encounter. Prepares/obtains patient medical records and other information/documentation pertinent to patient encounter.

3. Schedules and provides patient Instruction(s) for procedures, following correct insurance protocol. (i.e. Pre-certification, referrals, chart documentation, etc.)

4. Ensures appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to the above.

5. Maintains patient flow in accordance with the time of appointment in such a manner to avoid delays for the provider and undue waiting for patients.

6. Recognizes and responds to verbal and non-verbal communication.

7. Retrieves messages and responds to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical offices by use of telephone and computer as delegated by provider or supervisor.

8. Returns authorized messages from provider as delegated and documents information provided in the patient record based on established protocols.

9. Demonstrates competency in tasks and skills require for this position.

10. Keeps the exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked with supplies needed for surgeries/exams.

11. Maintains efficient, organized, and clean work areas. Demonstrates excellent time management skills.

12. Dispose of needles and other sharps in biohazard sharps containers according to procedures provided by the clinic.

13. Understands and follows orders and communicates results to appropriate providers or supervisor.

14. Uses analytical skills necessary to evaluate patients/providers requests.

15. Communicates with patients, families, and other professionals in a courteous manner.

16. Ability to evaluate problems and resolve issues appropriately.

16. Understands and demonstrates compliance with HIPAA regulations, and other regulatory, policy and compliance issues.

17. Ensures priority care is provided to patients in an emergency situation.

18. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
