Overview Of Position
The Buyer will support the Sourcing team by releasing & monitoring PO’s, forecast & buy summary monthly. They will be responsible for establishing a purchase order tracking system reported weekly to sourcing manager. This position will work daily with suppliers to ensure delivery requirements are met and report any deviation as well as work with the planning team to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained. This role may, from time to time, be called upon to research companies via the Internet and other research tools to assist the Supply Chain team in decision making. The buyer may also have direct contact with suppliers and asked to lead various team activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Management:

  • Partner with Planning to create, issue, confirm, and track purchase orders
  • Monitor status of all purchase orders and liaise with Planning / Management regarding supply risk and mitigation actions
  • Participate and lead monthly forecast reviews, providing input to Planning as to capacity or other efficiency considerations.

Analytics:

  • Monitor Supplier performance to KPI’s. Partner with Sourcing Manager and other Team Members to address issues.
  • Prepare Supplier scorecard and other analysis as needed in support of operational excellence initiatives

Documentation Management:

  • Ensure accuracy of all invoices, quality, and other required paperwork
  • Resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure Supplier Compliance with all policies
  • Master Data Management – Ensure relevant data is maintained in a timely and accurate manner
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned

Scope

The Buyer will support the Supply Chain team in creating and executing purchases of raw materials, finished goods, and indirect items, while also maintaining their own supplier relationships

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Position requires a B.S. Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 1-3 years of purchasing and sourcing experience
  • Strong computer skills are required including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent math skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be a team player
