Senior Civil Litigation Attorney
- Location Hollywood, FL
- Not a remote position
- Compensation will depend on experience and book of business, plus bonuses and benefits. Salary will be between $90k to $120k
Qualifications:
- Licensed member of the Florida Bar and in good standing.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of management experience in a law firm.
- Must have excellent writing skills as well as possess strong and persuasive oral advocacy skills
- Must be organized, with the clear and concise communication style
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be able to review a file and determine the strategy of the file
- Must be able to negotiate settlements
- Comfortable with training younger lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants, if necessary.
- Have a book of business and build a book of legal business, able to network and join the networking group market themselves to keep business coming in
Duties:
- Preparing legal documents (motions, responses to motions, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence)
- Handle court events (hearings, depositions, mediations, etc.)
- Communicating with the clients so they understand the posture of their case (teleconferences, meetings, and correspondence)
- Meeting with the partners so that they understand what is being done to move the cases forward
- Meeting with the team to go over daily tasks/achievements for the current day and the prior day
- Billing all time into the system
- Attend network marketing events
- Marketing himself and the firm
- Settling cases
- Review files to determine case strategy
