Great Lakes Academy Paraeducator ($500 signing bonus)
Great Lakes Academy is a high-performing, single-site charter school located in South Chicago. We are seeking a high capacity, fiercely positive, growth-oriented Paraeducator for the 2022-23 school year. This person will support one or more students in grades K-2. We are currently offering a $500 minimum signing bonus, payable upon the completion of 90 days of employment.

Job Description*
The Paraeducator is responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and supports to students with special needs, as well as general support for all students in the classroom and on campus grounds. The Paraeducator will work with the Great Lakes Academy Behavior Team to ensure that both assigned students and all classroom students are working toward their academic and goals.

Job Requirements*

• A history of personal achievement
• Valid Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License with Stipulations required
• Experience working with students in an urban school setting preferred
• Physical Requirements . Medium Work: Exerting up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently, and/or to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands include the ability to reach, handle, and finger objects; talk and hear; occasional use of near visual acuity and frequent use of far visual acuity. Spending majority of day on feet (i.e. will have to supervise lunch/recess)
